Responsibilities include:
- Working with editorial director and team to develop test questions and item banks in company’s proprietary format
- Developing stable of freelancers, illustrators, and content reviewers with subject matter expertise.
- Negotiating terms and executing agreements with freelance contributors
- Staying current on state standards requirements and curriculum as well as the research in pedagogical best practices for subject area
- Editing and fact-checking freelancer submissions
- BA or BS required; strong English language and grammar skills required
- A minimum of 5 years’ editorial experience in textbook or test prep/assessment publishing
- Practical knowledge of the editorial process: copyediting, proofreading, and file editing.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strict adherence to budgets, schedules and deadlines
- Strong planning and organizational skills
- Proven ability to multitask; able to juggle several projects at once
- Extremely detail-oriented with a strong work ethic
- Teaching experience is a BIG plus
- Up-to-date computer skills, including word processing and graphics packages a must
