Partial Offsite Possible Instructional Designer

A company seeks an instructional designer to develop a leadership development program. This position will be a short-term project laster 3 to 4 months. The candidate must be in the Chicago, Illinois, area. A candidate in this area may be able to work offsite part of the time.
Qualifications include:
  • experience developing formal instructor-led training materials, e-learning project management
  • strong proficiency with Office suite applications, such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Access
  • e-learning experience with Articulate - a plus
  • experience with different delivery methods
Location: Offsite possible, must live in Chicago, Illinois area
Compensation: TBD
We are working with our client in locating an Instructional Designer to develop a Leadership Development program. An initial Needs Analysis will need to be done. The consultant will complete a Needs Analysis and provide information and feedback to Program Managers. The consultant will lead the team moving forward and while this position is a leadership development role, it will be a project-lead position and the consultant will be responsible to complete the tasks. The program might consist of the following but the consultant should have experience developing & delivering: coaching, feedback, motivation, analysis of data.

Project Responsibilities:

* Develops, approves, and manages training project management activities around scope, project timelines, resource requirements, issue logs, status, communication, escalation and risk management for organizational initiatives that have a frontline associate training impact.
* Defines overall training framework for new training programs including learning development project team structure (instructional design, media development, editing, and training delivery, high level training approach, and organization of work.)
* Leads learning development project team through implementation of new training programs
* Manages all training development activities and resources as it relates to assigned projects and insures training component of the project is completed on time and within budget.
* Defines instructional goals and objectives, instructional and media strategies and evaluation methods for new projects and existing programs in partnership with instructional design team.
* Creates training communications for new programs.
* Manages Leadership course revisions and updates, as needed.
* Manages course pilots and certification sessions where applicable.

Required Skills:

* Experience developing formal Instructor-led training materials, e-learning Project Management experience; team lead/ability to work independently
* Strong skill set of Office suite products including MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Access
* E-learning experience with Articulate a plus
* Experience with different delivery methods
Start Date: September
Duration: 3-4 months
Location: North Chicago, IL - Local candidates only, some virtual work permitted

Partial Remote Instructional Designer for New Hires

A company has an immediate need for an instructional designer for ILT and eLearning curricula for new hires. This partial telecommute contract project will require 300 - 600 hours in the Seattle, WA area. Skills required will include:

  • Expertise in curriculum and instructional design
  • Understanding of blended learning and the travel industry, with corporate travel experience preferred
  • Adult learning experience
  • Samples of facilitator/participant guides

Helpful skills include:

  • At least five years of instructional design experience
  • Sabre background
  • Call center training experience

Location: Seattle, WA area

Instructional Designer Opportunity - New Hire Onboarding (Partial Telecommute)
We are working with our client in locating an Instructional Designer to Designer to create user exercises and assist in cleaning up the clients new hire on boarding curriculum. The material will be ILT and later eLearning.

The selected consultant will create a high level bid including milestones, deliverables, timeline, number of hours, etc. The consultant will sign an NDA for the quote.

In this role, you will design Facilitator guides and participant guides. Many of the screenshots are outdated. For the participant guides the content already exists and the consultant would revamp that material. For the facilitator guides you will need to start from scratch.

The clients curriculum is currently three to eight weeks. The audience is travel consultants, travel agents and corporate travel arena need to learn their tools.

Requirements:

* Strong instructional designer and curriculum developer experience
* Experience with the blended learning approach
* Knowledge of the travel industry. Highly prefers experience with Corporate Travel.
* Adult learning principles
* Experience with adult learning Center preferably in a call center.
* Work samples of facilitator guides and or participant guides
* If selected, will need to provide a bid

Nice to have:

* 5+ years of Instructional Design experience
* Experience with new hire and on boarding training
* Experience using travel industry system like Sabre
* Has worked on training for a call center environment
* Worker bee but able to see the big picture too

Start Date: ASAP

Duration: 300 - 600 hours to be shared with an internal person

Location: Bellevue and Seattle, WA area preferred. Can work virtually most of the time with necessary onsite meeting requirements.

Position Summary
Working as a contractor from home, the Curriculum Writer and Content Editor will be part of curriculum development projects to be implemented in the 20112012 school year. The Secondary Social Studies Curriculum Writer is responsible for developing course outlines, writing lesson plans, and creating scripts for online interactive tutorials. The Secondary Social Studies Content Editor will work with the curriculum and editorial teams to ensure quality and accuracy of content and to become familiar with and apply Connections Academys general editorial style guidelines. Effective communication with the Project Specialists and other curriculum and instruction team members is essential. Candidates with experience in teaching and content development in the areas of U.S. History and Civics or curriculum editing in educational publishing are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities (including, but not limited to)
Develop course outlines to meet state and/or national standards;
Develop lessons, which will be delivered online, to meet state and/or national standards;
Develop scripts for online interactive tutorials;
Design and develop innovative instructional strategies to teach concepts and skills;
Work with the curriculum development team to develop a comprehensive and consistent academic program;
Review interactive/online courses according to predetermined criteria in an online/Web-based format;
