Copywriter

Position Summary

The copywriter will be responsible for helping to reinforce the company’s leadership position through development of compelling professional (Business-to-Institution) content. As part of a meaningfully expanded and enhanced content development, curation and distribution strategy, this represents a new position, with joint responsibility to Marketing and Corporate Communications.

Major Responsibilities of Copywriter:

Collaborate with internal/external subject matter experts to develop white papers, case studies, guides, position papers and other long-form content that helps reinforce the company’s innovation leadership in PK-12 education.
Work with Marketing team to adapt this content for multiple/media and channels, including but not limited to web copy, presentations/webinars, and social media.
Represent the company POV as part of a strategic push into the use of social media.
Contribute to development of related press releases and corporate communications messaging.
Contribute as needed to the development of marketing communications content such as brochures, web content, etc.
Creative consultation on marketing and communications initiatives.
May require infrequent travel.

Required Skills/Competencies of Copywriter:

Our ideal writer has:

Experience with writing compelling position papers/points of view, white papers, case studies, editorial or similar content for B2B or Business-to-Institution audiences;
Sector experience in technology, education, and/or policy-related editorial experience;
The capacity to provide thoughtful support and rationale for a recommendation, and take on constructive feedback;
Experience developing interview guides/conducting interviews with the ability to elicit authentic feedback that fulfills the objectives of the assignment;
Attention to detail, comfort managing multiple projects in a fast-paced creative environment that can require tight deadlines;
Experience in adapting content/points of view for social media (a plus).

Experience of Copywriter:

BA/BS degree or equivalent experience, followed by a minimum of 7 years’ experience writing the type of material for which the position calls; writing samples required.
