Assistant Editor (ESL/EFL)

Job Description:

This position involves developing, editing, and proofreading materials that are offered online and in printed form to children learning English as a second language. The assistant editor will also check sound and animation files for quality and consistency with text. Original writing of children's stories at a variety of levels (beginner, intermediate, and advanced) is also required. The editor must work on-site in our Princeton, New Jersey, office (no telecommuting) and have a strong interest in children's literature. Approximately 30-40 hours weekly.

Qualifications:

-- minimum bachelor’s degree in English or related field

--experience in children's publishing

--attention to detail

--strong organizational skills to juggle multiple projects and meet deadlines

--strong computer proficiency (MS Word, Internet searching)

--experience in education field, is highly desirable

--knowledge of ESL/EFL is a plus.

Location: Princeton, New Jersey
