Thanks for all the encouraging comments. I've received kinds words by comments and by email. I certainly don't like the thought of giving up this community.
I am slowly getting my head above water in the classroom. I find that I have to work every Sunday afternoon, but it makes the rest of the week a little more sane, so I'll have to deal with it. The good part is that I only have to work this hard my first year. I will have all the systems in place to run smoother in the subsequent years, and most, if not all, of my nifty elementary school laminted stuff will be finished and ready for me to pull out of the closet!
I've been slowly talking with folks who are interested in taking over this blog. My goal is to find someone willing to continue the service that I believe all of you readers come here for. I will try very hard to update this blog 2-3 times per week until I can get something more stable going on. If you're willing to hang in there with me, maybe I can survive football/marching season and find myself with loads of time leftover for this blog. Hey, it's a thought!

Laura, I'm glad things are getting a little more sane in the classroom and in prepping for teaching. I know from experience how time-consuming and overwhelming that can be.
Thanks again for all you do with this blog--for the many, many people you help. I hope you realize how much you're appreciated.
Hugs,
Ev
Laura, I'm sorry things are so overwhelming. I know there's no way I could have maintained any sort of blog for my first few years teaching. We really won't take it personally if you can't keep doing it! (But we really appreciate it, nonetheless!)
