Feedback Request - Curriculum Writing

You all are very good about providing the feedback I need to tweak this blog. Thanks so much for all your encouragement and input. I have another tweak to make and need to know what you think.

Should I list curriculum writing and developing jobs that are outside of the education realm? Many businesses need training developed for their employees. Folks who have a background in education would probably be good at this. My question to you is should I include those leads in this blog as well? I will base my decision on the feedback you give.

Please post your responses on the blog itself, if you're willing. If you reply to the email you get daily from this blog, it comes directly to me and no one else gets to see it. I really don't mind those emails and they are definitely feedback, but I would like for others to see the responses as well.

I think it would be okay to list outside curriculum writing jobs; I'm not sure how much success most of us would have in that market, but it's worth a shot. I've applied to such jobs several times on other sites, with no luck so far. But I'm still interested in seeing them.

I'm interested in all sorts of paying educational writing jobs. I've written instructional materials on several subjects in which I didn't have a background. Good educational writers have the ability to research a new topic and explain it well.

I think it is a good idea to include all types of curriculum writing and development jobs on this blog. That would encourage many education writers to step out of the comfort zone of their subject matter and explore new things. We tend to pigeon-hole ourselves in the education field and that is not good for business! :-D

I have made at least a dozen of contacts based on the content of your site, with quite a few leads that lead to job offers (I had to try the Aztec job and shot down).

What makes your site unique is that you listed only academic jobs, which allows me, an educator, to go through each posting quickly - a great service. I think the blog should post these other curriculum jobs too, but separate from the academic ones.

I too want to see if I can break into this other field - where the money is.

Again, great jobb- I check in everyday.

IF you think it's a good idea for all of us who read your blog, than it is! I have had two terrific responses to my replies to your postings. Of course, there are many that have passed me by, but determination and persistence are the name of the writing and publishing game.

I think it would be a great idea. Someone with the right background may find the perfect opportunity. Besides, your listing are very easy to use.

Listing the other jobs is great but separate from the education jobs. It saves so much time for educators to use your site.

In the world we have, there are many forms of education, which is provided in many non-traditional ways. The current economic situation is not good. Anything that will help keep people working is a good thing. Please seriously consider implementing this change. Thanks for doing this! Your efforts ARE appreciated.

I think it would be a great idea to list other curriculum jobs outside academic realms. I'm a relative short-timer to the list, but there have been a number of posts that have proven useful in terms of work, so I don't think broadening the scope would hurt a bit.
