Thank you, Laura!

One question--
The header for the first listing is "Editor and Proofreader," but if you follow the link, it leads to a form for submitting sample SAT passages and questions.
Might it be possible to submit credentials for editing without going to the trouble of writing a sample passage?
Am wondering if anyone has a direct contact at Allen Resources.

Hi Laura-Thanks for the leads. Anon-I noticed the same thing about that first job listing. My question is about the third listing...does anyone else find the pay rate (2.50 per question/explanation) to be very low?

Science Writer--

Yes, I would say that's really low. When I had an hourly contract job writing problem sets (admittedly not for science), the publisher's hourly rate was based on an estimated 15 minutes per problem/answer. That pace was achievable sometimes, but many problem took longer. But, using those estimates, this publisher is offering 10.00/hour. As a 1099 contractor, which translates to approx. 7.50/hour after taxes.

Even though times are tough, that seems like a meager wage for anyone qualified to write science content.

Um, excuse the typos in the previous comment! Blogger won't let me edit.

I sent in sample questions to Allen Resources once over a year ago and heard absolutely nothing. I hadn't even thought about that until now.
