Mazer Creative Services has an opportunity for some elementary and middle school social studies writers. The writers would be working with state-specific standards. If you would like contact information to submit your resume for this, please email me at lauracoulterfreelance at yahoo dot com. If you've already made contact with Mazer from a previous post, email me for the contact email so you can check in with her.

Good luck!

Taking Memorial Day off

I plan on taking the full three-day weekend to myself this Memorial Day. There is so very much to catch up on. There will be no post on Monday, but I'll be back again on Tuesday.

Happy Memorial Day weekend!

Weigh in: Are Freelance Bidding Sites Worth a Look?

Happy Saturday, everyone.

I subscribe to a few job boards and receive regular emails with leads for this blog. One in particular lists jobs found on sites such as iFreelance.com, where writers submit a bid for a described job. I've read threads where some have found success using those types of sites, but I'm not sure those 2 or 3 success stories I've heard of are enough to sway me. How many others have tried and achieved nothing? So I have two questions for you:
  1. Have you ever used (or do you currently use) bidding sites to find work? If so, how did you fare?
  2. Should I post leads from bidding sites on this blog?

Enjoy your weekend!

Educational Publishers Resource List

My list of Educational Publishers doesn't get updated as regularly as it should. JoAnn Early Macken has a good list broken down by type: Test Publishers, Content Developers, and Educational (School & Library) Publishers. I thought you all might be interested.

Have a great Saturday!
