Project Manager, Humanitarian Action for Children Program
TeachUNICEF provides educators with global learning resources for grades PreK-12. Reporting to the Director of Education, the Project Manager oversees the development and implementation of the Humanitarian Action for Children Program, funded through the One Year Fund of the Brooke Astor Fund for New York City Education. This program seeks to fill in civic and global knowledge gaps through a one of a kind, immersive emergency simulation workshop, teacher training, and comprehensive curricular resources that connect students to real-world issues and inspire them to begin a lifelong journey of social action. This is a grant-funded, full-time position.
Key Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
· Developing all components of an emergency simulation workshop for students, including a facilitator manual and student handouts and materials
· Working with USF’s Digital and Video Communications teams and external consultants to create web and video components for the emergency simulation workshop
· Overseeing the development of curricular materials to accompany the Humanitarian Action for Children Program
· Managing the development of professional development sessions for educators in conjunction with the Humanitarian Action for Children Program
· Facilitating student and educator workshops in conjunction with the Humanitarian Action for Children Program
· Leading the evaluation process for the Humanitarian Action for Children Program by providing input and direction to an evaluation consultant
· Managing the development of marketing materials and engaging in outreach activities to promote the Humanitarian Action for Children Program
· Writing grant reports and managing all grant related accounting and reporting
· Supervising a half-time program trainer position, and overseeing all aspects of school recruitment and educator training
· Developing and implementing a plan for expansion of the Humanitarian Action for Children Program to new regions and markets
• Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years relevant experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience
• Advanced degree in education, human rights, international studies, or a related field preferred
• Experience teaching, working in educational settings, and/or developing educational programs and content
• Strong writing and/or curriculum development skills
• Experience developing and delivering trainings to youth and adult audiences
• Project management experience
• Competency in the development of digital and multimedia resources
• Strong sense of teamwork and collaboration with a demonstrated ability to build relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds
• Basic knowledge of international development issues and non-profit organizations desirable
• Must demonstrate USF Core Values: Trust, Respect, Accountability, Innovation, Teamwork, and Service
Must possess current and valid US Work Authorization and be eligible to work for any US employer without sponsorship.
