Okay, so I didn't find much, but I did come across a new name through this post: Curriculum/Writer Instructional Designer (Raleigh - Downtown). The company is GCFLearnFree.org. This position is full-time, but they look like they might be a decent prospect for the future.

Here's another I hadn't come across before: Anaxos: An Educational Media Company. Their contact info says
"We are always looking for experienced freelance writers, editors, copy editors, proofreaders, indexers, and designers. If you would like to be considered for upcoming assignments at Anaxos, please send an email outlining your experience and your resume to: jobs@anaxosinc.com"

Good luck,

We do not sponsor visas for this post. Pay rates vary depending on projects and experience.

In a Google search, I found that it was McHugh and Associates and that I've posted for them before. The contact name is different, but I'm sure for enterprising freelancers, that won't be a problem. :-)
