Science Item Writers Needed

Symmetry Creative Production is looking for Science Writers who can develop test items for a high school equivalency test prep product.  

 

·         Needed Immediately: experienced educational  science  test item writers .

·         The assignment consists of writing and repurposing test items for a high school equivalency test project.  The item types to be developed are multiple choice.

·         The freelancer shall develop, revise and quality check items and write and submit art specs (if applicable) following all of the client’s guidelines and acceptability criteria.

·         Rate per item: $20

IXL's new language arts component helps students master grammar and vocabulary like never before. Students' abilities soar as they interact with engaging texts, correct grammatical errors, and decode new words in a variety of contexts.

Engaging language arts questions require engaging language--and that's where you come in.

We are looking for creative, motivated Content Writers to join our content development team. In this role, you will work closely with Product Analysts and Content Editors to write fun, elegantly-crafted language arts items for grades 2-6. This is a part-time contract position with the opportunity to work remotely.

Responsibilities

• Write sentences and paragraphs for use in a wide variety of problem types, including fill-in-the-blank, proofreading, and matching.
• Create dictionary definitions for spelling and vocabulary words.
• Brainstorm topics for imaginative, age-appropriate sentences and paragraphs.
• Format content according to guidelines.
• Accept and implement feedback from editors and revise items accordingly.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree.
• Demonstrated expertise in ELA content development for grades K-12.
• Extremely strong writing ability and grammar knowledge.
• Clear, engaging writing style.
• Strong understanding of elementary students’ reading and knowledge levels.
• Strong critical-thinking, research, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to be efficient and organized while working on multiple projects simultaneously.

High School Social Studies Writers Needed

Hi Folks,

A few weeks ago I sent out a mass email discussing a high school social studies project. The project is now in full swing and I'm now looking to hire between 2-4 freelance social studies writers to construct online lesson plans.

Duration: Now through April 2014.

Pay: $800-$1000 per chapter.

Quantity: 57 chapters total.

Details: Pickup and revise lesson plan components from old online product and print editions into new digital template. Revise/rewrite OLP elements to align with Texas standards. Write new differentiated instruction for in-class activities. Write and correlate chapter wrap-up assessments questions. Conceptualize and spec new interactive assets.

Revision rounds: 1-2 

Qualifications: Degree in history along with classroom experience preferred. Lesson plan and assessment writing experience preferred. Must have some knowledge of TEKS and ELPS.

Science Content Committee Recruitment

The GED Testing Service is looking to increase the pool of qualified individuals interested in sitting on the committees that review our test items. At this time, we are looking to seat a committee which will review potential social studies test items for rigor, the accuracy of the content, and alignment to the skills the items are meant to assess.  The committee will convene via webinar for between five to seven days in the early part of 2014, likely January or February. No travel is required for this committee and committee members are compensated at the rate of $400 per day.

Our ideal candidate has at least a bachelor’s degree and substantial experience in at least one of the tested science domains (Biology, Chemistry, or Earth and Space Science), is interested in exploring the intersection of the intersection of science and the Common Literacy and Mathematics Standards, and is excited about helping shape a high profile assessment in a way that will benefit test-takers nationwide.

The new GED® Test is on track to be the first large-scale national assessment specifically tied to the Common Core State Standards. Participation in its development provides the opportunity to be part of the cutting edge of an important 21st –century movement to reform education and assessment.
