New Additions to the Education-Related Publishing Companies List

I've had a couple of companies brought to my attention recently that would make good additions to the list. Thanks, Dorit, for letting us know about Six Red Marbles.

I also received an email from Ken Yablonsky inviting us to check out MathQueue, Inc. "We are a math-specific editorial company who has done recent work for Pearson, McGraw-Hill, and HMH. We have a good rapport with Words and Numbers, Element, and GGS. We would love to be added to your list of Education-Related Publishing Companies." Ken says the work is slow right now, but occasionally they get swamped and will keep this blog in mind when looking for freelancers.

Education-Related Leads for Friday Feb. 19, 2010

Hi,
While online job postings do seem to be slow lately in the Education Market, here's some good news about online job postings in general from Clark Howard, Headline News economist:

Feb 02, 2010 -- More online job postings hint at a hiring recovery: Has unemployment got you down? New stats are tentatively hinting that more jobs will become available as we move forward through 2010. A new analysis of January 2010 job postings online shows an upswing to four million vacancies, according to research group The Conference Board. Reviewing the Educational Publishers List: Round 2

I've begun reviewing the list of educational publishers to see who is actively accepting freelance resumes. If you missed it, take a look at Round 1. I've clicked through the next set of five to find a direct link to the contract/freelance page. Here's what I found:

Element LLC (Not actively recruiting, but open to letters and resumes)
Enspire Learning (Kind of an odd duck in the jobs department; need actors and such, but also need medical writers. I know a few of you readers are strong in the medical industry.)
Ferguson Publishing (For manuscript submissions)
Free Spirit Publishing (Again for manuscript submissions)
GGS Creative Resource (No info. New website coming soon. I'll keep an eye on them.)
