Reviewing the Educational Publishers List: Round 1

It's a good idea to review the list of educational publishers to see who is actively accepting freelance resumes. I've clicked through the first few to find a direct link to the contract/freelance page. Here's what I found:
Happy browsing!

Education Market

  • I am so sorry that I have not posted Educational gigs the past week or two. I will be back on next week but wanted to let you know I had a valid reason.

1. New job working as the nurse in a residential facility for children- afternoons, writing in the morning with more gusto.

2. Participating in blog tours for Nancy I. Sanders and her book America's Black Founders. It is a great book for teachers and on her blog tour she gives tips on breaking into the book market for kids. Visit her site at www.nancyisanders.wordpress.com

3. Doing book reviews for Mary DeMuth's new book THIN PLACES. It is a wonderful book for those looking for healing from abuses and problems especially from childhood.

So, again, sorry. I will say that as I scanned the job posts myself, nothing struck me so hope for new links next week. Thanks for understanding and blessings for a great writing week.

Too Many Warnings

I've received a few emails from folks letting me know that Shakespeare Squared is having a little trouble paying their freelancers. Based on their stories and some other warnings I've read, I'm going to remove them from the list of educational publishers. If they start making good on their contracts, I'll put them back on the list. I really appreciate when you wonderful readers help keep me up-to-date.

Thanks,
Laura

McHugh and Associates, Inc. Added to Education-Related Publishers List

At the request of the company, I've added McHugh and Associates, Inc to the list of eduction-related publishers that runs along the bottom right of this blog. Browse through those if you haven't taken the time to do so (and feel free to notify me of any defunct or broken links). I posted an opportunity from them two years ago and should have added them to the list then. Sorry about the oversight!
