Premier Agendas looking for all sorts of freelancers

 Interesting work...I worked for them a while back...Ruth is nice...Michele

Premier Agendas is looking to replenish its stable of writers, copyeditors and proofreaders before starting the 2015-16 planner season. We need: experienced K-12 writers, preferably those with experience using our products in the classroom; creative writers who know how to write engaging, kid-friendly content following a tight editorial scope; knowledgeable writers who are familiar with CCSS, STEM and other educational standards/trends who can easily incorporate those standards into a very tight writing space. We need editors who are extremely detail oriented (repeatedly checking dates, holidays, liturgical colors, etc., can become monotonous to the wrong person). Editors with common sense, who aren't afraid to question details or make suggestions to improve content for our customers. Premier is the market leader in classroom planning. We help children learn time-management and organizational skills through a variety of themed planners and other supplemental materials. We're also always looking specifically for Catholic editors who could review our Faith & Life planner line accurately and to ensure they are in line with the Catholic doctrine. If you think you're the right fit to be a writer or editor, send your resume to ruth.richardson@schoolspecialty.com along with a cover letter outlining your writing interests and educational specialties (science, math, curriculum, language arts, character education, health, etc.). Tell us how you've used planners in the classroom or even at home with your child. Familiarity with our copyrighted onTRAC system is a definite bonus! Candidates must be hired as professional on-call contractors through our payroll system (you'll get paid every two weeks!). This also requires passing a drug-test before an offer is extended.

A bit off topic: Call for conference proposals

Could be not only a great learning opportunity, but networking opp as well.

One Nation Indivisible invites those who share our commitment to educational equity and quality, integrated education to submit a workshop proposal for our upcoming conference, "Where Integration Meets Innovation: Creating, Sustaining and Improving Dynamic & Diverse Public Schools for the 21st Century."

This conference, which will take place in Hartford, CT on November 8-9, 2013, will bring together about 200 parents, educators and activists (primarily from NY, CT and MA) who aspire to build innovative, diverse public schools that prepare children for learning, work and life in the 21st century. Hartford is home to a nationally-heralded system of magnet schools that draw racially, economically and culturally diverse student bodies from dozens of cities and towns throughout the region. The region's Open Choice program also enables students from Hartford to attend suburban schools.

We’re seeking sessions that:
* Are practical and interactive
* Engage youth, families, community leaders and educators as well as researchers, policymakers and advocates
* Promote youth participation and/or leadership
* Incorporate the arts
* Highlight practices and policies that advance equity, build 21st century skills and harness the potential of diversity within racially, culturally and economically integrated schools (and classrooms)
* Respond constructively to specific challenges faced by integration supporters/practitioners

Proposals are due September 30th and can be submitted by email to gchirichigno@prrac.org   or faxed to 617-496-1406 .

Download the proposal form and find out more info at: http://www.onenationindivisible.org/event/conference-hartford-ct
